"We try to eat at Dogwood anytime we're in Vinton. We love their menu as you can find homestyle meals along with great burgers or sandwiches. We dropped by last night after a soccer practice, and our meals were delicious! The service was great! We also loved the additional space they have built out next door since the last time we visited. They even have outdoor dining now! We'll be back soon! (I had the grilled chicken with grilled onions and mushrooms, mac & cheese, and greens with cornbread - pictured.)"

"Saturday nights prime rib starts at 4:30 and it did not disappoint. The food came out incredibly fast. It was the best prime rib I have ever had! This place is a gem!"

"Delicious breakfast! Loved the Dogwood omelet. Very flavorful. The kids pancake was a hit too. Sweet and buttery with a good crisp exterior. The bear shape was super cute too. This place gets packed and they don't have a host to take your name, so expect to know who's before you and stalk your seating. They are expanding, adding the space next door... so hopefully that will help."

"On 12/01/2025 at approx. 2:30 p.m. I ate a late lunch at the Dowood restaurant.I have been eating at this restaurant off and on since I was a boy and am now 76.Today the food was awful.I ordered the meatloaf,macaroni and cheese and a potato cake with gravy topping.The meatloaf and macaroni and cheese was so dry that you could hardly swallow it .The potato cake was white on top and burnt on the bottom but the gravy over rid the burnt taste.The roll that came with it and the Coke fountain drink was good.The service at this restaurant is always good.It seems to me that the quality of the food coming out of the kitchen is lacking lately.I have gotton chicken livers at this restaurant on two separate occassions and they too were extremely dry and hard to swallow.Maybe I am coming to eat there at the wrong time but subpar food should not be comiing out of the kitchen.It is ashame because I have enjoyed coming there my whole life."

"This is definitely a place to consider if you're looking for an old diner feeling restaurant. Very high energy, lots of seating options for small parties or large parties. The food is simply marvelous!!!! The daily specials are special for a reason. I had the chicken and dumplings special, the day we were there, and it was almost as if my mom had just cooked it."
